Tyra Banks wants all women, everywhere in the world, with a weave to take it out and rock their real hair on September 8th 2009. She's calling it "National Real Hair Day." Here's a statement she released.....
"This season on The Tyra Show we’re taking it to the next level and getting more real than ever before by encouraging women everywhere to own and rock what they’ve got and be proud!” – she says in a press release obtained by US Magazine. “For the season 5 premiere, I will be doing just that - no fake hair, I’m rocking my REAL hair.”
How many women do you really think will participate in the "Real Hair" round up? If you're like me, and just paid a pretty penny, and sat in the salon for hours to get a weave in your head, you won't be celebrating this one!! You may even decide to protest it.
I think it's a good idea, the whole "loving yourself as you are" thing. But Tyra, next time give us ladies some heads up. Like a least a couple of months, that way we can schedule an appointment to get our 'Real Hair' done and be prepared to rock it!
Gotta keep it sexy whether is real or faux~
